Blog Post #4
In the book "Foul Trouble" Terrell is a basketball superstar. His coach, coach Wilcox is a genus behind Terrell along with coaches son, Danny. Danny is a great basketball player but Danny gets no credit for his work. Terrell tries to give credit to Danny whether its from social media or talking to the press but Danny is always Terrell's shadow. Even the father thinks more of terrell than he does to his own son and people think he's only doing it so people will recognize his greatness and give him fame for it. Thats why Danny deserves more than Terrell.
There are many reasons why Danny deserves more than Terrell. One reason is that when Terrell got lured into a drug house Danny tried to bail him out by playing it cool but Danny took the blame when Terrell got caught. When Terrell got into a fight Danny was there to back terrell up and defend him and Danny got in trouble. Since Terrell started becoming one of the greats, the judges started blaming Danny because no one cares about him. Thats why Danny deserves a lot more than he gets.
In conclusion, Danny deserves a lot more credit than he receives because he has defended his own teammates to show he cares about them. He also has taken the blame because he's an easy target to get rid of because he's an outlier from the rest attending the basketball college. Teens can relate because they need to know when to do the right thing even when times are bad.

On the Devils court
Basketball is a very sorted out sport, between keeping your scoring up and dishing out assists it's a lot to worry about. For Joe its easy, with a devil on your side. Joe Faust a 17 year old basketball player dream is to be in the NBA and play for any team but playing high school basketball is hard. In joes English class they're reading a article about Dr. Faust and how he sells his soul to the devil. Joe takes the same concept and sells his soul to the devil for one full season of power in basketball. What sports players should know, keep your hopes up and practice hard and your dream may come true.
All you need to do is practice what you love and you'll become great! Joe owns a gym where he can practice his basketball skills. I think instead of him thinking he sold his soul for power he actually practiced so much that he became great and all that work is just muscle memory. "I was playing for two hours non stop running up and down the floor, then I shot 10 straight shots SWISH".
Time and effort is a buetiful thing. Embracing your necessary skills to improve your game pays off. Taking the time like Joe to practice what you love is great. Putting your mind aside to play what you love is great just keep your hopes up and practice and you'll do fine

Books are the key to learning and a happy life, Although the teens across the world are "safe" they still have an internet where anything can be access. Teens are seeing a different prospective of war and the horrifying photos of death. In the book Fallen Angles by Walter Dean Myers the main character Perry ends up trying out for the military. When he's sent to Vietnam he finds a friend named Peewee. Both characters find ways to hate war. Perry, for instance, enters a camp where he encounters a enemy VC. The VC's gun jams and perry kills the VC. Peewee encounters a little girl, he makes the little girl a doll and she goes off back into the war zone but the little girl steps on a mine and Peewee's shocks for a few days. Teenagers can look at these photos and realise that war is a hurtful thing.
Teens can relate to the idea of war being a hurtful thing because of the amount of deaths there are. Perry version of how he sees the world is when the sun rises all life is spared, when the night rises all the fighting renicates. "there was no fighting at that moment it was like someone was flipping channels then turn the fighting back on". Not only does war change people physically but people change mentally. Making a connection to the movie American Sniper, the main character Chris Kyle goes into war for months because his motto is never quit, Perry's motto is the same but both characters experience mental changes and Chris Kyle has to go into rehab.
All people who spend a few months to a few years in a war zone start experiencing visions. Manaco, Perry's friend in war is shot in the leg when he awakes in the hospital he starts screaming "KILL HIM HES TAKING ME AWAY". Although adults aren't the only ones who can face mental difficulties. Children who are refugees, who loose everything such as there family, home, friends, turn into adults who have no meaning to live. They join a military.
Teens and young adults who see photographs in the news about gun fire and children dying want to help by joining the military. Why do we send kids in the military for some of them to die. That's why Teens can look at these photos and realise war is a hurtful thing.
